God wiggles his butt
when he sees you, his
tail lashing the heavens
with happiness.
Not one glad glance
is wasted on your sin,
your bad behavior,
your poor choices.
Even God gets into the trash,
sometimes. How, otherwise,
would she understand?
And do you recall
how you laughed
at her guilty smile,
how, finding
nothing to forgive,
you forgave everything?
Today you will remember
to roll in the grass,
or play in the snow,
to scratch God’s proffered belly.

Divine Guidance wiggling brains and butts of all creatures – blessed are the glimpses we (humans) see of this essential force in our lives. And blessing on you for posting these images for my clarity moments after deterring our new year-old puppy from digging up the newly planted redbud tree! Guidance to her to explore. Guidance to me to pay attention. Guidance to husband to place some heavy rocks at base of new plantings. Guidance to the 3 of us to accept limits (redefinitions) on what is reasonable behavior. (Noting that both husband and dog like to dig … )

Can’t take credit for the images, though I hope their originators would be happy to see them put to the use of making others smile. So glad you are loving and learning with your new puppy. Those early weeks and months in the lives of young things are singular and (mostly) delightful.
