Just gorgeous pictures, Cate! Leaves here often fall with several colors, not only partly green, but sometimes with both red and yellow on the same leaf, usually a sweetgum leaf. Most of those turn yellow, but I’ve seen a few that turn entirely red.
Thanks, Leah. We’ve had an unusually wintry October. Many leaves did not have a chance to complete their color show before heavy snow and frigid temps; they browned and fell, or just fell. We’re in the midst of another round of snow and cold as I write. I miss the range of colors you document so beautifully, but I love snow — and my cats are curled near the woodstove fire. Thanks for commenting!
A perfect observation, with All Hallows’ Eve right around the corner! And prescient, it turns out, as we’re getting heavy snow now, though that’s more beautiful than wicked to me. Thanks for commenting!

They say that when the fallen leaves are still green something wicked this way comes๐๐
