I live in a little valley beneath the local high school track, and when I heard the loudspeaker yesterday announcing the 200-meter dash and the high jump, I grabbed my camera and headed up to the meet.  In this season of new life, I wanted to be there — to feel the excitement of competition,  the elegance of earnest effort and the poignant poetry of youth in full bloom, as yet untouched by time.

  1. She’s back! And in fine form. This made me smile, thinking of the boys and their forays into sports in our little valley. Thanks for that.

    1. I thought of your boys, too, especially remembering Aidan’s graduation photos. Nearly two years ago now! How does that happen? Glad you enjoyed this post, dear Jane.
